Tesshu [Griffon]

Ten generations ago among the peaks of Boreal, was a small clan of griffon warriors called Clan Oda. They were known as the "Samurai" whose fighting style was known as "Kendo". But rather then belonging to House Aeryie, they lived under the Northr Tribes. There were many rumors that some of them came from the Barren North, or simply known as the nogriffons land. They had strong valor and a way of life simply called "Bushido". The leader of the clan was an master swordsman known as Tesshu.

They got well with the other Tribes, even involving in their Rites. But their strange ways became their downfall as the clan began to die out as time pass until all was left was the born griffon named Tesshu ten generations later. The only family heritage left for him was the Oda bloodline and the family sword.

He was hot headed in his youth, often getting into spars and challenging his friends in races. Sometimes he would do bets such as flying across the mountain range and back ten times without stopping. At the beginning his wings would cramp but overtime he took it as a training method. His race blood lust fueled his warrior spirit, often getting him to train days on end to perfect his fighting skills. When he came the age of 10 he was told of his Oda bloodline which made Tesshu feel honored but the worse that Pride began to take over him. After several years he would often brag and feel like he is better then anyone else. 

When the Rites of Adulthood came Tesshu started it with Valor, he was taken away to the barren north and faced great hardship such as Windigoes and other danger that lurk in nogriffon land. When he survived and was able to return, his warrior spirit harden ten fold. 

When he turned 28 something mythical happen, something that shook his spirituality. When he was doing a training atop of an mountain peak, an wave of vivid colors washed over the sky. The stunning display changed something in him, it made him open his eyes to the wonders of the world. Shortly after that he went to a temple that is based around The Beyond, the Northr afterlife. There he was taken in by a monk that taught him how to meditate and various ways of life but told Tesshu to forge his own path. So Tesshu did just that, he found his clan records and revived Bushido [Way of the Warrior] and took up the clan sword style Kendo [Way of the Sword]. He choose both of them to respect his clan and bring honor. After he decided he would often return to the temple for teachings.

Six years after the event that changed his life, The war began with the Equestrians. At first he joined his comrades for honor. But during the course of the war he realize there was no honor in this. Most of the army were bloodthirsty savages and greedy. This was not the griffins that Tesshu knew in the old stories. He also saw dishonor in many griffons because they were afraid to die, while in Northr culture it is the greatest honor to die in battle. But alas Tesshu held valor and continue to fight, not for the griffon army but for his ancestors including the ancestors of Ponykind. He would go to any battlefield and fight in the thick of it to bring glory for the beyond and the Pony afterlife.  

As time pass the glory seeking griffon fought battle after battle till he was earned the rank of Captain. With his warrior spirit blazing, he led a siege on Ponyville not for the glory of the army or Tsar, but the afterlife of griffon and pony. The reason was because if he did not lead the siege, another Griffon would go in and add another black spot on the griffon race.  

After the battle he ordered his men to bury the pony warriors, because to him it is honorable to give brave warriors a proper burial. Despite the many complaints from Tesshu men they eventually agreed. Despite the many objections Tesshu allowed the captured ponies to work on the nearby apple farm and allowed some to continue there jobs. Of course Tesshu had to enforce some laws such as the curfew and the no weapons policy. Lastly as an griffon of tradition he let the ponies keep their holidays because is someone try to take away his, he will fight back with all his fury. 

After Tesshu took over Ponyville he stayed there for the rest of the war to secure the place but often time he would leave to take part in the other battlefields in Equestria. Sadly he was not able to take part in the Battle of Canterlot which made him a little angry and sad. 

During the last months of the war Tresshu came across an abandon tree house, inside he found a worn out chest with a lock. After a quick slash Tesshu open the chest to find an sky blue feather. Tesshu knew the owner of the feather since he saw her all over the war reports. After a moment of thinking Tesshu decided to keep it as a reminder of the event that open his eyes and made him to what he is today. So he added the feather to his necklace.

When the war ended he stayed with the army because it would be a disgrace if he let the other griffons gnaw on Equestria like a starving animal. He was eventually re-station to Manehatten to ensure that nothing odd is happening around the place, but not before when Tesshu let his old friend from childhood to take over Ponyville while he is gone. It had put a lot of weight off Tesshu wings knowing he placed the village in good claws. Now in Manehatten, only his ancestors in the beyond know what he desires for the city.

Purpose: Divine Winds is the central part of Tesshu fighting style, Kendo.

The blade was passed down generation from generation of Clan Oda.



Description of what this item does in semi-mechanical terms:

The sword is made out of steel called Tamahagane which stands for "iron sand". Its just acts like any other blade.



Description of the item's appearance:

A curved, slender, single-edged blade with a squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands.

Functions: Reminder and Support magic. 



Purpose: It is mostly used as a reminder for Tesshu so he will never forget the event that changed his way of life.



If it's a unique or one of a kind item how did you come into contact with the item? During the last months of the war he came across it in a ruined chest that was in a tree house. He kept it as a constant reminder to never forget his way of life. So he added the feather to his necklace.



Description of what this item does in semi-mechanical terms:

Due to the feather holding a small reserve of pagasi magic, it had granted him enchant speed. Which makes him extremely swift on his feet and is able to performed incredible feats of speed and agility, such as being able to avoid gunfire.



Description of the item's appearance:

The necklace is made out of spider web thread and it consists of six spherical dark blue beads and one spherical bead that holds the feather. All seven of them bear a griffon symbol that represent the seven virtues of Bushidō. The first three stands for Courage, Rectitude, and Benevolence. The bead that holds the feather stands for Loyalty. Finally the last three stands for Respect, Honesty, and Honour.
