Midnight Chase [Closed] (Dated)

"Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit SHIIIIT!"

"Get her!" A Gryphon yells as 5 other Gryphons fly after the pitch black pony.

The pony is next to impossible to see in the darkness of the night, but the bag she is carrying on her back gives away her location. The Gryphons quickly gain on her, but she runs up a wall rushing into an open window in one of the many buildings lining the street. From there, she exits out the back door of the building and gets away unnoticed by the group. That is, until a gryphon spots the floating bag. A commotion of shouting from the gryphons ensues and the chase resumes. Iris Hawkeye, the thief with the bag, is now leaping over fences as she makes her way through the back alleys and yards of Main Street.

One of the particular griffins that was following this thief had anger flashing through his red eyes as he moved ahead of the group, wanting to catch this filthy thief. His wings beat against the wind as he followed the shadow of this pony, flying at great speeds until he was yards away from the intruder. "COME BACK HERE!" He yelled out. The group behind him was slowly losing their energy, while SangWing continued to keep pursuit. He wasn't going to run out of any energy anytime soon, and with enough tenacity, he would catch her. He was inches away from her, ready to bite down onto her hoof and stop her in her tracks.

*Screeeeeeech..!

The sound of aged metal reverberated throughout the street as Xarith pulled down the iron doors that covered his shops stand. With a quick motion, the zebra shut the doors and locked them tightly to prevent any unwanted visitors. Nodding at the sight of his small little shop he had, he moved over to one of the oil lamps he had and extinguished it with one strong breath.

Xarith had finished yet another day in the city. Another boring, exhausting, agonizing day in the city. He hadn't had much activity today. The costumers were trickling in day by day needing less and less as they knew that the zebras supplies were running low. He was about to head into the back room when he heard the sound of something zipping past him in the air nearby accompanied by the sounds of screaming and hollering from griffons.

Xarith panicked for a moment. Choosing to see what would become of his life, he opened the door and took a nice look inside still with the look of fear making its way through his mask of composure.

He just caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a floating bag as a small group of griffons flew through his window and out his back door screaming something about a thief.

That was all he needed to hear. He threw on his grey jacket and trot after the mysterious figure. He didn't know why, but something told him that he needed to see the end of this. This would probably get him killed, but he had faced more dangerous things twice as fun as this.

Besides, today was a bit boring.

Atriark stuck to the shadows of an alley off of Main Street. It was well past curfew and the runty zebra really didn't want to be seen. He seriously needed to quit his night job. Being a medic for the rebels was hard, espically if he was the one who had to go and meet the theif and buy the medicine. Kinda stupid, sending the doctor out to buy stolen drugs in the middle of the night and risk loosing him. But somepony had to make sure the medicine was legitimate.

The zebra sighed and looked around, the theif was late. He was starting to get antsy, he hated being out past sunset, more chances to get killed.

A floating bag, followed by a gryphon come into view heading towards Atriark at high speeds. Iris stops and tosses the bag into the alleyway at Atriark without any hesitation and not looking at Atriark as to not hint that somepony would be in said alleyway. Now much harder to see without the bag, she turns around staring straight ahead at SangWing and pulls out her daggers to prepare for what appears to be a battle that will soon ensue in front of Atriark. Atriark can see little of Iris. Mostly he can just see the green gleam of her eyes, and what little light reflects off her three unsheathed daggers; One in each hoof and one in her mouth.

SangWing smirked and he stopped when the mare had ceased her running, his wings flapping a few times to bring dust up into the air. He relaxed on his four legs, and glared at the thief. "Fucking scum." He growled, as he took a step towards the mare. As she brought out the three daggers, one in each hoof and in her mouth, his smirk only intensified. "Put those down little girl... you are going to hurt yourself." He said. Despite how blood thirsty he was, he had to be careful. Those daggers were deep enough to kill him, he couldn't be aggressive... yet.

Meanwhile, the guards took notice of the bag moving to Atriark, and they looked at the zebra. "Curfew!" One of the guards yelled. Three guards moved into the alleyway, looking at the zebra as they smirked, brandishing their spear, halberd, and sword. "Looks like someone is out past curfew." One of the guards said. "You won't make that mistake again..."

Xarith flew down the streets on his old dirtboard. Standing tall with his saddle bag slung strangely over his shoulder, he stood on his hind legs with his fore legs out to keep his balance. He found that he could gain the most speed and movement with this unorthodox style.

With this he noted to carry his two short metal bars that he used for protection. He wouldn't be caught dead without these trusty tools, but knowing the circumstances he probably could be found dead with them. Shaking these thoughts from his head he silently stopped just around the corner behind the alley where the thief and its pursuers lay.

Peeking his head in he saw another zebra there with the slight gleam of metal flickering around him as the griffons pulled their weapons out.

Slowly slinging his board over his back, Xarith stood on his hind legs and carefully pulled out his two metal staffs silently in preparation for what was to come.

Surprised to find a bag being tossed at him, Atriark barely managed to catch it. He slung it over his shoulder and found himself facing three gryphons, all of which were armed. A spear, a halberd, and a sword. If it were just spears or halberds, Atriark might be able to fight his way out. Three different weapons meant three different tactics. And Atriark wasn't sure how well he'd be able to change. Though he was dead anyways. So he might as well fight.

"Go eat a daisy!" Atriark shouted, taking up a martial arts fighting stance.

The guard with the sword raises his sword to slash at Atriark letting out a yell and then promptly drops the sword behind him and his yell turns into a scream as two of Iris' daggers plunge into his back. The black blur of a pony jumps off the dead guard's back and runs along the wall over and behind Atriark. She grabs the bag from Atriark and resumes her run.

The griffin who was attacked let out a scream as the two daggers opened up wounds in his body. He cried out before falling onto the ground. One of the other griffins started to tend to the wounds of the injured while the third griffin in the group focused on Atriark. He snapped his beak and waited for the zebra to either run or stay. Due to his fighting stance, it looked like he would be fighting. The griffin lashed out, attempting to scratch his chest with its claws.

Meanwhile, SangWing let out a growl as the thief started to run a completely different way, and he growled before pursuing her. He managed to grab the sword of the injured griffin while he ran on his fours, moving closer and closer to the thief, the sword in his beak. If she didn't think of something soon, he was going to catch up to her. This was accentuated by the swipe of the sword towards her, attempting to cut her leg muscle so that she would be maimed and unable to escape. However if she moved, he would barely cut off a few inches of her tail.

Iris Hawkeye rolls to the side dodging the downward blow. She does a backflip over SangWing's back throwing the dagger in her mouth down at his right wing. She lands behind SangWing and jumps through a window that no Gryphon would fit through.

SangWing feels the dagger dig into his right wing, breaking the skin and pinning him to the concrete. He lets out a yell of pain as the blood starts to leak out of his wing. He pulled the dagger out of his wing, letting out a seething gasp of pain as the blood continued to flow. He quickly starts to run around the building, before bashing the door to the building inside. "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!" He yells, as he looks around for her, noticing that the building had a second story. "I'll break every building in Equestria to find you! Coward!" The sword remained in his right claw as he moved to a bipedal stance, walking around the building in the darkness, his red eyes looking for the coward.

Iris hears the gryphon enter and leaps out the window silently, retrieves her dagger and sheathes all three of them. She then climbs to the rooftop without making a sound. She liked these buildings the best. They had no access to the roof and so if a gryphon couldn't fly (like SangWing), she would easily be able to hide away on the rooftop. She makes it to the top of the roof without attracting any attention and pulls out her sling bow and bolts ready to take on what comes.

A fine tune of strumming strings of a guitar suddenly fills up the night, songs of battle and victory flowing past the main street, the preformer's intention was clearly to take the griffons' attention away from the daring filly, the sound keeps switching sources, like the guitarist is moving around at fast speeds. The song stops after a while. Preformer disappears nowhere to be seen or heard.

SangWing looked to his useless right wing, as he flapped it once to make sure that the muscles still worked. They did, but the pain was too large for him to keep using them. Due to his wing flapping, dust was starting to move up into the air, and he marched up the stairs to the rooftop in rage, bashing through the door to confront the thief and her sling bow. One of his eyebrows raises before he brandishes his sword. Standing on his hind legs, he was twice as tall as the pony, so he wasn't scared of her. "Careful with that, you might get hurt." He said with a small laugh, the blood still leaking from his injured wing. "You took away my wing for a few days. And you are out past curfew. I think that deserves at least a few broken hooves. Wouldn't you say so?" He asked, as he took a step towards her, holding the sword down just in case he needed to block whatever came out of that bow. However, a perfect moment was brought up. The music played by String Chord was a perfect distraction, and he turned with a growl towards the sound. "Fucking ponies never listen to rules!" He yelled, his injured right wing in perfect range.

Iris immediately takes a shot at his right wing and another at his leg. She then salutes SangWing while leaning backwards off the edge of the building. She lands on the ground with a roll and begins running, stolen goods in hoof.

SangWing would have cursed his former self for being so stupid. The pain that moved through his wing and leg as he was shot made him cry out and screech. He looked towards the attacker, and right when he was about to pounce, she fell off of the building. He limped over to the rooftop to see the thief get away, and he slammed his claw onto the rooftop, leaving a few cracks while his hand was now throbbing in pain. "That bitch!" He yelled out. He looked to his wings. He wasn't able to catch her, she managed to get away. If he ever found the maker of that music, he would kill them.

Atriark stared at the pony with the spear. The zebra runt considered himself so very lucky that the theif had attacked the swordsgryphon, lucky that the one with the halberd began tending to the severly wounded.

Atriark took a step forward and quickly grabbed for the shaft of the spear. The gryphon reacted in time and jerked it away, nicking Atriark's hoof with the blade. The spear gryphon lunged, driving the weapon forward. Atriark slapped the spear away with his arm, getting cut again by the razor sharp tip. Quickly, he stepped forward. The gryphon swong his spear, hitting Atriark's side with it's shaft. The runt wrapped his arm around the shaft, hit the gryphon in the collar bone, jerked it out of his grip. Having it free he swong around, getting momentum, and cracked the gryphon in the side of the head with the iron base of the shaft.

Throwing the spear down, Atriark turned tail and hauled it out of there. The drop off wasn't gonna happen, not tonight. No way he was sticking around. He wasn't a coward, but he was one of the few doctors the rebelion had.

Atriark ran out into Main Street. He frantically looked about, trying to find a place to hide. He was sure the remaining gryphon was giving chase, but he wasn't sure and didn't want to risk anything. The zebra runt ran for a door to a shop and tried it. Locked. Atriark cursed under his breath and tried the next door. Same thing. "Bloody hell." Atriark said louder.

Casting his gaze about quickly, as he was sure he heard something. But there was nothing. Except for him, the street was empty. Curfew was in effect and not many wanted to risk being a snack. So why was he? Because he was ordered to. Atriark sprinted across the street and tried another door. Also locked. "Damn it!"

An old female pony with her front door open yells "Get out of the street you moron!"

SangWing heard the clopping noises of Atriark running away from the building and the crime scene. His eyes widened and he limped over to the alleyway, seeing his griffin brothers hurt. He looked back to the one who started to run, and he growled. His crew members could wait, that is fresh food galloping away. He jumped off of the building and landed on his unhurt limbs, making sure to raise his hurt leg to avoid putting pressure on it. However, he was screwed if he tried to keep up with this zebra. He started to run, ignoring the pain of his pulled muscle as he started to gain on the zebra. Faster, and faster he ran, trying to catch his prey before his body gave out. Soon enough, he would try to engage in a full on tackle, his hurt wing closed near his side while he tackled with his front legs. His back right leg was still bleeding, a large hole where the bolt had lodged into his body.

Atriark turned his head to face the old pony and galloped for her. Before reaching there however, the old mare slammed the door shut in his face! He pounded on the door and heard the dead bolt slide into place. Just great! He opened his mouth the speak, to say a few choice words only to have his words cut short by a gryphon descending upon him and tackling the runt. Atriark flailed under the large gryphon, trying to turn around. He threw an elbow, hoping to catch his assaulter's jaw.

SangWing tackled the zebra with such force that he was capable of breaking down the door once the two of them connected against it. The elbow attacked his jaw and he took a few steps back, before moving right onto the attack. He attempted to jab his beak onto the zebra's flesh, and his eyes darted over to the old lady, a smirk on his face. He moved his beak out of the way and then attempted to punch the zebra right on the chest, while also trying to step on his back hooves to keep him still.

The old pony jumps out the back window shutting it behind her. She then climbs to the top of the roof of the building with what appears to be a sling bow in her mouth and a quiver on her back. She is on the other side of the building and out of sight of both SangWing and Atriark.

String flies in from the other side, looking over the battle, he is whistling softly, ready to jump in if the zebra starts losing, he is on the roof across the old pony's, he sits on his haunches and puts his guitar to the side.

Atriark shoved his arm up, holding it against the gryphon's throat as he tried to go for his neck. He lay on the broken remains of the door the pair had smashe through, pretty sure his back was bleeding. More pain was added when the gryphon's fist made contact with his chest, causing the runt to cry out in pain. His hind hooves were stepped on, pinning him in place. But he would not be so easy to defeat. Atriark swong his free hoof for the large gryphon's head.

SangWing's head was immediately retaliated against and he growled as the pain radiated through his head. He raised one of his back legs in attempt to stomp on his right hind leg, followed by repetitively stomping on it. He wanted to hear the zebra's cries of pain, wanted to hear him beg for mercy. While this happened, his vision was slowly returning, and he felt the pain of his right leg starting to cripple him. His grip on the zebra's left leg was loosening in intensity, and the griffin now tried to punch the zebra in the jaw, one punch after another.

Right as Sang pulls his hoof back, a metal bolt sticks into it shot from the rooftop. The old mare is sitting on the roof ledge swinging her legs back and forth like a much younger pony would. The old mare is holding a sling bow and reloads another bolt into it.

Atriark cried out, pain shooting up his leg as it was smashed. Then he flet a fist contact his jaw, then another. His vision swam, not able to do much besides feebly try to block the punches. But, he felt the pressure holding his leg lesses and Atriark took this opprotunity to try to knee the large gryphon in the side.

SangWing let out a screech of pain as a bolt lodged itself into his claw, blood squirting out of the wound and leaking down his claw. He looked over at the old lady with the sling bow, and he quickly attempted to throw the zebra farther away from the windows so that he could not be attacked by another bystander. If he failed to do that, he would still feel the knee in his side, which caused him to take a few steps back anyway. He allowed the bolt to stay inside of his hoof, since pulling it out would cause more blood loss, and he started to feel his vision swimming. He looked over at the zebra, and then grabbed a nearby chair that was in the house, and threw it at him.

The old mare jumps down from the roof and rolls to reduce the shock. She faces the pony and gryphon and chants "Fight fight fight fight fight!"

Atriark could feel his jaw swelling. But he couldn't do anything but hold on as the gryphon grabbed his throat. The zebra felt weightless as he was thrown across the room. His vision swam and faided. He looked at the gryphon and tried to rise up.

SangWing smirked as the chair hit his prey. Now was the time that he could enjoy and show to all of pony kind, that you did not mess with him. If only he stayed out during the curfew, Atriark would have been alive. He looked over at the old mare who started to yell out, and he growled before charging at the zebra. However, one particular object was levitated in front of him and he slammed straight into it, his noise breaking and blood squirting out of it. He took a few steps back before falling backwards, the blood loss finally taking advantage of him. His red eyes closed. The beast was down for now.

Rationale's horn ceased the tan magical aura and he ran inside of the broken down house, moving over to the splintered pieces of the chair and the bloodied zebra. His eyes remained cold and emotionless as he helped the zebra back to his hooves. "Come on, we have to get out of here." He said, as he walked with the zebra outside. "You need medical attention... now." His brown eyes stared at his rebel brethren, before he looked back at SangWing. A thought moved past his mind to commit murder to this griffin, but he brushed it aside. He wasn't a killer.

Iris's chanting fades to mumbles, than to nothing. She removes the disguise and walks up to the bloody mess of a fight. She confirms that Sang is unconscious and holds up Atriark's barely conscious hoof "We have a winner!" She looks to Rationale and says "Thanks for that, I need this pony alive."

Rationale nods his head as he looks at the dark pony in front of him. "He is knocked out, and bleeding a lot. We need to get him to a hospital, and we need to hurry." He said, before he balanced the zebra onto his back. He let out a small grunt of exhaustion, since he wasn't as strong as she should be in a world like this. "Point me to the nearest hospital... we need to leave as quickly as possible. I don't know how long SangWing will be out."

Iris cracks a dark humored joke "How ironic that the doctor needs aid..." after a few seconds of realizing that nopony thought her joke was funny, she pointed in a direction behind her and said "There's a clinic in the Industrial District."

Rationale didn't think her joke was particularly funny, considering he didn't acknowledge it. He started to walk in the direction of the industrial district, looking left and right to make sure that they were not attacked again. Whether Iris followed him or not, he didn't care.

Iris picks up her bag of stolen goods and follows for the purpose of seeing her job to its completion. She needs to sell this worthless medicine for money and Atriark has been generous with money every time they have traded. "So are you a rebel then?"

Rationale passed a side glance to the mare as the both of them walked, and he nodded his head, before his eyes focused on the road. He looked to be unarmed, easy pickings for the thief. But Rationale wouldn't be out past curfew if he didn't have some tricks up his sleeve. And since he performed the finishing blow on SangWing, Iris had to take that into account, if she wanted.

String smirks, flying away, he'll be sure to make a song about the rebel's first victory, even if it was such a small one. The sounds of glory will soon be filling up the streets.
